Summer at The Write Salon
Join us for a new long-form writing course and a special night of poetry & music in Madrid
Hello dear readers and writers 🙌🏻
How does the approach of summer feel to you? We hope it includes arts, culture, and writing plans, and we're excited to share two summer offerings at The Write Salon.
Write & polish that long form piece: A guided 6-week course
June 30 to August 10, 2025
Struggling to finish a long-form piece? Feeling alone in the process? In this 6-week completely async writing course, you'll draft, get feedback, revise, and polish—turning that half-finished work into a submission-ready piece. Work at your own pace while connecting with a uniquely supportive, global writing community - no scheduled classes.
Led by The Write Salon's own Willow Mata, this writing journey responds to the requests we've received over and over in our Daily Sprint classes: our community of writers needs guidance and structure to finish longer pieces and connect with other writers while juggling the demands of their busy lives.
Join our special writing community in this unique online course and feel the momentum take hold as you take a long form piece to the finish line.
All genres welcome. This writing course requires an average of 3-4 hours per week (completely on your own schedule). We start June 30th.
*A special 20% discount is available for our repeat students. We’ll email you the promo code, but you can also request it at hello@thewritesalon.com.
Ghost Bird: A Night of Poetry and Music with Omar Musa and Mariel Roberts Musa
July 2nd, 7:30 pm at Librería Parenthesis
Poetry and music touch our deepest feelings. They inspire, nourish and expand our understanding of the world and ourselves. This is why we are so excited to welcome Omar Musa and Mariel Roberts Musa to an in-person event in Madrid on July 2nd where music and poetry come together to explore issues of identity, climate change and grief.
Together, this artistic duo creates a unique artistic dialogue that weaves together Omar's powerful words and rhythms with Mariel's innovative musical interpretations. Award-winning Bornean-Australian poet and rapper Omar Musa brings to the stage a remarkable artistic journey that spans continents and mediums. Virtuoso American cellist Mariel Roberts Musa has earned recognition as a "fearless explorer" in contemporary music (Chicago Reader), combining technical mastery with an adventurous spirit that transcends traditional boundaries. Their collaboration promises an evening where poetry meets experimental music, where the urgency of climate crisis and the complexity of identity find expression through two extraordinary artistic voices. Don't miss this rare opportunity to experience their combined artistry in the intimate setting of Librería Parentesis.
Ticket price :12€ (we offer 5 subsidized spots - email hello@thewritesalon.com if you need one). Snacks and drinks included with the ticket price.
Happy reading and writing this summer. We hope to see you at these special Write Salon events!
